Ci Demi's long-term series that started in 2018, “Unutursan Darılmam” (No Offence If You Forget), is now becoming a photobook by FiLBooks. Exploring the dilemma of “staying” in or “leaving” Istanbul, the series also records a period when Ci Demi was coming to terms with his bipolar disorder. Ci Demi examines how the residents are shaped by the Istanbul all while they change the city itself. The series won first place at the Encontros da Imagem - Discovery Awards in 2022, and has been featured on various platforms like the Pera Museum and Lenscratch. Recently, as a photo book, "Unutursan Darılmam" was among the final 25 projects selected from 975 entries at the Images Vevey Book Award. Ci Demi and FiLBooks have decided to start a crowdfunding campaign to proceed with the publication of the book. In these challenging times for Turkey, when we often find ourselves questioning the concepts of "staying" and "leaving", we find meaning in staying and resisting despite everything.
