İnsan Olmak by Engin Geçtan
In this book, which has been reprinted many times since its first publication in 1983 and has proven its constructive relationship with the reader, Engin Geçtan describes the dilemma of being human as follows: "Contemporary societies have brought with them a unique phenomenon. Humans tend to form relationships with a much larger number of people than before, but for much shorter periods and on a more superficial basis. This is similar to the story of a group of hedgehogs meeting on a cold day. The hedgehogs huddle together to keep warm, but their spines prick each other. When they separate, they are bothered by the cold. By moving back and forth, they eventually find the most suitable distance where they can warm each other without their spines pricking each other."
Considering the social and material changes in today's world, hedgehogs need each other even more, and each hedgehog must find its own answer to this dilemma, and precisely for this reason...Human We can say that 'Being' is even more relevant today.
