Artist book by Olaf Nicolai derived from the Spector Books publication Double Bound Economies to which he contributed. Girlfriends is a selection of portraits by Olaf Nicolai, taken from the collection of Reinhard Mende, freelance photographer of the GDR. The images document women on their workbenches in various factories, taken between 1967 and 1990.
