"The Contributions of Photo Agencies to Photojournalism from the Weimar Republic to the Present Day" is a doctoral thesis. The Weimar Republic (1919-1933), whose fundamental parameters were freedom, scientific and artistic creativity, revolution, and chaos, is one of the historical focal points that must always be kept in mind in terms of defining the socio-cultural structure of both the 20th and 21st centuries and analyzing photographic policies. In addition, the historical and contemporary authority of photo agencies, which Dr. Oral examines in her thesis and which is based on the free will, creativity, courage, and self-sacrifice of photojournalists, maintains its reality despite the postmodern erosion of meaning.
